Rt Hon Gordon Brown MP
Chancellor of the Exchequer
11 Downing Street
London
Dear Chancellor
It is good to know that you are taking constructive action to try and help to alleviate the problem of world poverty.
It is my hope that the recent meeting of the G7 Finance Ministers and the forthcoming summit meeting of the G8 countries at Gleneagles in July this year will see resolutions translated into action.
The aims of the Make Poverty History Campaign seem particularly appropriate and I would commend them to you, as others have no doubt done already. Justice in trade, reduction of world debt and a better system of Aid to poorer nations, are worthy aims to pursue. To you is given the task of helping to create the political will that will allow these aims to be fulfilled by our Government and I would wish you well in that.
Yours sincerely,
Rev Bill Slack
