At a recent meeting of our Public Issues Advisory Group, note was taken of certain amendments that were made by the Justice 1 Committee to the Protection of Children and Sexual Offences Bill.
We would like to commend the Committee for its care in seeking to clarify and strengthen the Law with respect to:
- Paying for the sexual services of children
- Causing or inciting child prostitution or pornography
- Controlling a child prostitute or a child involved in pornography
- Arranging or facilitating child prostitution or pornography
We hope that these amendments, as they spell out these offences in Law, will ensure that the Courts can deal efficiently and expeditiously with these offences when they are brought before them.
