Consultancy - A Way Forward in Mission
At any stage in a church's life it needs to be asking questions like "Where is the Lord taking us next?", "What is the Lord saying to us about how we are and how we might be?"
Consultancy is designed to help a church find some of the answers to these questions and then begin to move forward, as the consultants work in partnership with the local church. It is part of an ongoing process designed to produce a mission strategy for your church that is in tune with both the call of God on the church, and the reality of the context that the church finds themselves in.
A number of Scottish Baptist churches have already has a consultancy, with others just embarking on the process. There have already been many positive comments about their experience, with perhaps the element of fun being the most unexpected.
If you feel that your church might benefit from a Consultancy, or you simply would like a little more information, please contact Mission Support or your local Mission Networker. Don't wait too long though - in some areas there has been a bigger than anticipated demand for this service, and there is already a waiting list.
Missional Leadership Training Course
Two of our Mission Networkers, Olive Drane in the Northern Area and Neil Young in Glasgow, are involved with an exciting new course in Missional Leadership. Orchardhill Parish Church have teamed up with Together in Mission to provide in-depth training for present & emerging church leaders with an emphasis on mission - a vital focus in this post-Christian age. The course is suitable for ministers and lay people alike and is flexible, part-time and can lead to a certificate, diploma or even a master's degree; or can be taken without aiming for any formal qualification if preferred.
The start date is whenever you want, but begins formally at Orchardhill in September, meeting once a month on a Saturday. For more information please out the local missional leadership website: www.missionalleadership.org.uk
