I was born in Kilmarnock but have lived in the Hillfoots since I married my husband, Colin. We have three children, Deborah (17), Gillian (14) and David (12) who all attend Alva Academy. My background is scientific - I have a degree in physiology and got a PhD in dental research, but of late I have been working in the local kilt factory (I would recommend it as being a way of finding all about your local community!).
Colin and I have been members of Tillicoultry Baptist Church for twelve years where I am a deacon and church secretary. We both play in the praise band - Colin on guitar and I play a cornet (like a trumpet but shorter and fatter). The children all play drums (we have a set in the loft) and other instruments - so with clarinets and violins as well as those listed before it can be a very noisy house!!
I have been Mission Networker since November 2003 and one of the things I enjoy doing most is finding out about the communities that churches serve.
