The Vision
Moses won a strategic battle against the Amalekites by holding up his hands in prayer. But after a while, he needed two guys to prop them up!
All pastoral ministry needs support and the vision of the "Ministry Department" is to offer practical and prayerful encouragement to pastors and church leaderships in as quite and unobtrusive a way as possible.
The Personnel
Rev Andrew Rollinson, our Ministry Advisor, leads the work of the “Department”. Andrew had previously been a pastor in Newcastle-upon-Tyne and Morningside, Edinburgh.
Mrs Mary McKay is Andrew's PA and also provides administrative support to the Ministry Development Coordinator.
The post of Ministry Development Coordinator became active in the autumn of 2007, with Rev John Greenshields fulfilling this remit. He advises and assists pastors in their personal, spiritual and pastoral development.
There is also a Ministry Resource Team, which meets for a day four times a year, to think proactively about the future needs of Baptist ministry in Scotland.
