Prayer Link for November

Sunday 6th

Canonmills. Please pray for this thriving congregation in Edinburgh.

Carbrain: Rev Grant Hamilton. Praise God for the arrival of our new pastor and for a feeling of optimism and excitement about what God will do through us all in the coming months. We pray that our introduction of a monthly Messy Church will be a success and we look for guidance about how best to engage meaningfully with the community living around the church building.

Sunday 13th

Carluke: Rev Trevor Wilson. Give thanks for God's continued blessing. Pray for new Alpha courses, in both English and Chinese, which started in mid-September and for God's provision as we seek to embark on our vision to become a 'Centre of Hope'.

Castlehill: Rev Alan Wells. We give thanks for well attended services and mid-week groups. Our kids club has had a good start after the summer and our toddler group, Pitter Patter, has moved to two mornings a week, which is proving popular.
We are working through the discussions we had during our church conference in September and trust God will guide us as we seek to develop the way we use our time on Sundays and look at how to build deeper relationships between ourselves as believers and between ourselves and the community around us in Castlehill.

Sunday 20th

Castlemilk, Glasgow: Pastor Gordon Joyce. On Sunday 18th September, all the Churches in Castlemilk held 'Back to Church Sunday' services - an opportunity to reach out to those folks who have for whatever reason left or drifted away from church. Our prayer would be for wisdom in dealing with contacts and follow up and the ability to display the grace and love of God to those with whom we share fellowship in the days that follow.
Recently, we have rejoiced at the latest addition to our church family, an 8lb girl named Precious. She is a reminder of our desire to nurture our young. Pray we might display a dynamic, living faith. We also pray for continued spiritual growth and confidence in our young adults after summer camp and their premier effort in leading us in worship, prayer, testimony and preaching recently.

Cathcart: Rev Derrick Watson. We give thanks for new beginnings in ministry together through the induction of Rev. Derrick Watson to Cathcart in August. Pray for the continuing links between Cathcart Baptist Church, Trinity Church of Scotland and Cathcart UF Church, bearing fruit in the vibrancy of the youth partnership CYMP, to be strengthened and developed as an expression of the unity of the Spirit locally; pray for new chaplaincies taking place in Hillpark Secondary School and Merrylee Primary; pray for the developmental work exploring how we shape and define the disparate parts of our building to express and support the presence and work of Christ; and pray for the experimental work on Sunday evenings intended to shape new ways of interpreting together, with interaction on www.theroughpsalmist.wordpress.com.

Sunday 27th

Charlotte Chapel. Please pray for this large church in the centre of Edinburgh.

Cleland: Rev Stephen Parratt. Please give thanks with us for the Lord’s goodness over the past year, particularly for His provision of a pastor for the fellowship and for encouragement from monthly visits from missionary contacts. Give thanks for developing links with churches in the area, through cluster groups etc., and for a link with a small fellowship in Calango, Peru.
Please pray for our discerning of the Lord’s direction for us as we seek to be a light for him in Cleland and beyond. Pray for increasing links with the community and for wisdom in knowing how to develop links. Pray for the monthly service held in the local old people’s home & for the residents there. Pray for continuing impact through the monthly women’s meeting (October to March). Please pray too for our Peruvian sister church, rejoicing in their new building, erected with help from a ‘Latin Link’ STEP team, one of whom was one of our own young people.
Pray for the young couple, whose involvement with us for the past year greatly encouraged us, who have now moved into ministry in Culloden.
