December Prayer Link

Sunday 4th

Coastline Community Church (East Neuk): Pastor Daniel Pollin. We have been encouraged in recent months with some 'new faces' and slow steady growth in the Sunday Services. At this time of writing, we are praying that tomorrow we may get the 'all clear' from Fife Council for the final details of our long-awaited Planning Permission for the new church building. We praise the Lord for His goodness and provision for us to date, and we pray His continued guidance for the future. Please pray too for our Youth work, under the leadership of Dustin Fox. Again there has been some encouragement but several of the young folk have issues to wrestle with and require a lot of prayer and support. Our Pastor and Youth Worker are seeking the Lord together for vision for Evangelistic outreach in this needy area, where there is now much opposition to the Gospel.

Coatbridge: Rev Gilmour Callander. We have just celebrated another year in the life of our church and we give thanks to God for his goodness and grace. Rev Jim Graham (Goldhill), our anniversary speaker, challenged us in our commitment to Jesus and to the church. Please pray for us as we respond to his challenge to be ‘building blocks’ and not ‘stumbling blocks’ to the progress of the gospel and the building of Christ’s Kingdom. We also give thanks for another successful ‘Step Out’ Mission. We have used this to launch two new midweek groups-Epic (Endless Possibilities in Christ) Kids and Epic Youth and we are now seeing about fifty young people attending. Please pray for these groups as they present Jesus to the children, many of whom are unchurched, and pray for new leaders/helpers without whom further expansion will not be possible. Pray too for Coatbridge High School and our involvement in the chaplaincy team, we are seeing small and exciting glimpses of God at work.

Sunday 11th

Collydean, Glenrothes: Rev John MacSporran. Pray for Collydean Church to continue to grow and be more effective in our neighbourhood. Pray too that our Good Lord will lead a competent keyboard player to commit to us.

Colonsay. Our little church here carries on as best we can - working closely with the local Church of Scotland. We thank God for the ability to join together for worship in this ecumenical way -and pray that this witness will bear fruit on the Island in general and also on the many visitors who join with us in the summer.
We are grateful to all those who come over and minister to us - and help us to have regular services during the months from April to October. Unfortunately weather - not only on the mainland but more especially on the Island during the winter months - with the ever present problem of ferries being unable to call means that we are rather limited then. Please pray for us as we try to arrange our visiting schedule for next year - and for those who are now unable to get along to services due to increasing age. Pray that we may remain faithful. Thanks.

Sunday 18th

Cornton, Stirling: Rev Hamish Wishart. Give thanks to God with us for the great work amongst the children and young people of the area. Please pray for the Sunday School work which is mainly church children; for the midweek kids club which regularly has over 70 local children; and for the youth café where between 20-30 young teenagers attend weekly. Pray in particular for wisdom in how to develop ‘Distinctive’ our Sunday evening youth ministry for those wanting to go deeper. Please pray for Ruth McCaig, our youth and community worker, as she heads up this work and seeks to develop it further. Plans are being made for a new sports ministry next year. Pray for the church coffee morning each Thursday where a good number of locals attend along with church members. Pray for the services in the local Care Home. Pray too for work in the local primary school and nursery school. Pray that much fruit will come from all these relationships and activities.

Cowal. Please pray for the church and its pastor, Mrs Margaret Millar.

Sunday 25th

Cowdenbeath: Rev Graham Kinloch. Give thanks to God for his amazing generosity in providing everything Elaine and I have needed in order to come to Cowdenbeath, and please do pray for us as we settle into life in a new church in a new town.
We give thanks for our parent and toddler group and the great number of folk that come along. Please pray that those involved will have opportunities to get along side parents, that they would see the love God has for them lived out authentically by his people.
Please also pray for wisdom for us as a church as we think about how we might further reach out to the people of Cowdenbeath with the gospel, particularly as Christmas approaches and opportunities are provided.

Crieff: Rev Richard Tuckley. We continue to give thanks to God for the various ministry opportunities we have in our area, particularly among the young and the elderly. Also, we are thankful for the continuing opportunity to take our Sunday morning service to the Community Campus once a month. Recently there have been some negative press reports regarding the visit to Crieff by the Impact World Tour teams on 3rd & 4th November. Please pray for wisdom for those dealing with the aftermath and please pray for the good number of people who stepped forward in commitment on both evenings. We trust that the negative publicity will not dissuade them from a commitment to Christ. Finally, please pray for us as we look to the future. As our pastor, Richard Tuckley, approaches retirement he is urging us to seek God's will in prayer concerning our future ministry. Thank you for your fellowship in prayer.
