BUSY (Baptist Union of Scotland Youth) is the young people's arm of the Baptist Union of Scotland. We exist to advise, challenge, encourage, resource and stimulate churches in the whole area of ministry and mission with children and youth (i.e. those under 25).
Leaders working with young people in churches are often left to get on with the job and feel like no-one is listening to them. At BUSY, we will listen to you. This can be done individually, as a church team or across an area through local area networks of leaders from different churches.
Leaders also wonder if there are other ideas or resources out there that they need or could use. At BUSY, we have a stack of quality resources that you can browse through, borrow or buy to help leaders in their weekly activities or assist church leaderships in mission planning.
Numbers of children and youth in most churches are declining. At BUSY, we want to get alongside churches which are serious about addressing this issue and in thinking outside the box in an attempt to connect with the children and young people in their communities. This can be done with an individual church team or across a group of churches who are in a similar situation in a locality.
The very busy BUSY office is staffed by:
Young People Advisor, Gary Smith. Gary is often out and about but will be happy to get back to you if you leave him a message.
Ivy Young, Gary's part-time PA. Ivy works in the office all day Monday and until 2.30pm on Tuesdays and Wednesdays.
